On September 22, 2025, the MATCH project hosted its third and final webinar, titled “Networking and contemporary artistic production related to climate change and environmental issues” with the active participation of the artists selected to participate in the MATCH artistic research and exchange programme. They had the opportunity to share how their artistic practice connects with environmental and climate concerns; what their experiences of working with local communities are and how these experiences have influenced their practice; and, finally, what role they believe that art can play in addressing future climate challenges.

The session was moderated by La Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille, in charge of the MATCH capacity building strand and by D6:EU the MATCH partner in charge of the artistic research and exchange programme. All the partners responsible for hosting the residencies in Athens, Barcelona, Marseille, Nicosia and Izmir were present offering an opportunity for exchange with the selected artists.

MATCH wants to contribute to creating a community of practice of artists and cultural professionals active in working to mitigate climate change in the Mediterranean through socially engaged arts.
