Webinar 1 | Artistic practices, green spaces and community actions
- 29.07.2025
On June 25, 2025, the MATCH project hosted its first webinar, titled “Artistic Practices, Green Spaces and Community Actions”. The session brought together three inspiring initiatives that explore the intersection of art, ecology, and community engagement: Moving Ground (presented by Nicholas Anastasopoulos), Gardens of the Future (Peggy Spinelli), and Rails Garden (Ana Stervinou). The discussion was moderated by Alice Comte.
The speakers shared experiences from their projects, each rooted in local urban contexts but connected by a shared vision of regeneration through creativity and participation. A key focus of the conversation was how stakeholders — from institutions to local communities — can collaborate effectively in urban planning processes. Trust-building, sustained presence, and inclusive dialogue emerged as crucial components.
Another central theme was the role of art and culture in shaping sustainable urban futures. The projects showed how artistic practices can activate public spaces, build community ownership, and address environmental and social challenges in tangible ways. Participants also reflected on what they’ve learned from other practices across Europe and how these exchanges continue to shape their approaches.
The webinar concluded with a Q&A session. The webinar was a valuable opportunity for exchange and reflection, setting the tone for future conversations within the MATCH project.
