MATCH Residency 1 Athens completed: Artists map climate change across Greece

During a month-long residency in Athens,  artists Annalisa Zegna and Garance Maurer explored how climate change shapes Greece’s landscapes, communities, and ecosystems. Traveling across the country, they engaged with scientists, artisans, activists, and residents – tracing water pathways, visiting the drying Lake Mornos, and observing wildfire-scarred lands in Chios and Attica.

Their work intertwined traditional ecological knowledge and site-specific research to map water flows, fire scars, and human resilience.
On 31 October, they presented their findings at the Duncan Dance Research Center, transforming its gardens into a living archive of movement, reflection, and ecological data. These traces mark the beginning of an ongoing inquiry that will culminate in their exhibition in April 2026.
