Webinar 2 | Envisioning a Cultural Climate Change Response Impact Assessment (CRIA)

On July 9, 2025, the MATCH project hosted its second webinar, titled “Envisioning a Cultural Climate Change Response Impact Assessment (CRIA)”. The session introduced the need for targeted models for Climate Risk Impact Assessment for Cultural Production including analysis, adaptation and mitigation.

The session included the following inspiring presentations:

  • The SoPHIA impact assessment model of interventions in cultural heritage by the team of Università Roma Tre
  • Constructing a “Cultural Climate Change Response Impact Response Impact Assessment” by the team of the National Technical University of Athens
  • Measuring critical indicators in buildings and urban environments by Trophy lab and the Hellenic Passive House Institute (HPHI) | Pasivistas

These presentations introduced two very relevant models to support the assessment and evaluation of the impact on the environment of cultural and artistic interventions but also two very interesting experiences in Athens, Greece, that used specific indicators when building in urban environments. More specifically, participants were able to exchange on issues such as the potential of community gardens to mitigate climate change; the importance of community engagement in responding to climate change; and, finally, how to support participatory governance in cultural production and community gardens for climate change adaptation.

The exchange among participants was active and lively, contributing to the new community of the MATCH project.
